Contract or buy outright? Work it out in seconds

How much mobile data do I need?
Move the sliders to match a typical day away from Wi-Fi. We turn it into GB a month, add some headroom and show today’s cheapest SIM for that amount.
Calculator
Upgrade or keep your phone?
Compare three routes over the next 24 months: stay as you are, keep your phone on SIM only, or upgrade. The difference is the real price of a new phone.

How our calculators work
Each calculator loads today’s prices when you open it — the cheapest contract for each phone and the cheapest 30-day SIM for each data allowance — and adds each network’s April rise for a contract starting this month. Every number can be changed, so you can test a deal you’ve found elsewhere. Everything runs in your browser; we don’t store what you enter.
For the background to each sum, see our guides: is it cheaper to buy outright?, price rises by network and what to do when your contract ends.
